Win a signed copy of Champagne and Chandeliers
The book that elegantly captures Grand Dining Celebrations
Champagne means celebration in style – of that we are all surely agreed – and no celebration would be complete without this sparkling addition. Bernadette O'Shea elegantly proves the point in her book Champagne and Chandeliers: Grand Dining Occasions.
Many books and words have been written about Champagne by wine writers, critics, poets and others but this book captures its essence in such a unique and elegant style, it won the prestigious Gourmand Award for Best French Wine Book in the world for 2010.
You could win one of three personally signed copies of Champagne and Chandeliers and find yourself immersed in thirty five history-making moments through stories of the celebratory dinners and menus, with each dish matched with a particular Champagne.
Mix with royalty at the Danish royal wedding or dine with King George VI. Savour the last delights on board the Titanic or discretly eavesdrop on a meeting between President Clinton and Jiang Zemin as you sip on a glass of the appropriate bubbles.
The lavish photographs of Champagnes, cellars and vaults, menus, historic scenes, dining rooms, banquets, chandeliers (but of course!), sportscars and the rose windows of Reims Cathedral delightfully set the scene for celebrations. In a beautiful toast to Bernadette's home state of Queensland, the final image is of a Champagne dinner on the beach at Lizard Island at sunset. This is certainly a beautiful setting but we want to know what you think makes the perfect location to raise a glass of bubbles.
TO ENTER: simply tell us (in the 50 words or less box below) the best location for raising a glass of Champagne.
