Bungendore Village is a pleasant 30 minute drive from Canberra and is a wonderful place to visit.
Settled in 1837, it is an historic village that lies in a beautiful valley with many well preserved old buildings.
The Lake George District cool climate wineries are located on the Bungendore escarpment with breathtaking views over the ancient lake basin; birthplace of the Weereewa Festival. Here one can, at times it seems, almost touch the clouds. These vineyards provide grapes of exceptional character, and the winemaking itself sets a standard of excellence for cool climate wines.
Bungendore is a thriving community, a country town where locals still say g'day.
