Freeman Vineyards was established in 1999 in the Hilltops region of New South Wales by Dr Brian Freeman, previously professor of wine science at Charles Sturt University. Best known for cherries, stone fruits and top quality merinos, the terroir of the Hilltops is also ideally suited to viticulture, especially the classic red varieties, cabernet sauvignon and shiraz.
Currently the company's portfolio includes two award-winning Italian inspired wines – the unique Freeman Rondinella Corvina crafted from Australia's only plantings of these two classic Amarone varieties, and Freeman Fortuna, a savoury multiple varietal white blend that is reminiscent of the wines of the Friuli and Alto Adige regions of northern Italy.
