Not so much a cabaret show as a cry for help, Britney Spears: The Cabaret - starring Christie Whelan - was commissioned for the Adelaide Cabaret Festival, and has since enjoyed sell-out runs in Sydney and Melbourne. Hilariously funny and strangely touching, the show is a satirical look at the perils of fame by award-winning writer/director Deam Bryant. The musical direction of Mathew Frank sees Britney's hits transformed into cabaret songs, and seamlessly intertwined into the fabric of her life story.
