Puffing Billy Railway is proud to announce two new Steam and Cuisine Wine Trains in 2012. Travel aboard the century old steam train and taste local Yarra Valley wines with a sumptuous three course dinner to match.
Two local wineries – TarraWarra Estate and Helen's Hill Winery – will take centre stage aboard Puffing Billy Railway’s enclosed dining carriages for two unique evenings of wine tasting and fine dining.
The first of the new Wine Trains will run on Friday February 10, 2011 - with TarraWarra Estate as the featured winery. Guest wine presenter Simon Napthine, General Manager at TarraWarra Estate, will enlighten passengers about the local wines being tasted with each course throughout the journey.
The second of the Wine Trains will run on Saturday February 11, 2011 and will be hosted by Helen’s Hill Winery - with its founding partner Allan Nalder leading the way with his expert wine knowledge.
Both evenings begin 7.00pm at Belgrave Station, where guests are greeted by the wine preseto enjoy the first wine tasting on the platform. The train departs at 7.30pm and travels through the scenic Dandenong Ranges to Emerald – as the wine presenter imparts their knowledge during service of the entree and main.
On the return journey dessert will be served accompanied by the final wine tasting. The evening concludes with tea and coffee before arriving back at Belgrave Station.
