You didnt have to be an Einstein to work this one out. There are very few wines that have been made under the same lable since the 50's, even less of them shiraz.

The clincher was SA, from then on it had to be one of three, Grange, Mt Edelstone or HOG. There are other SA wines that have been made since the 50's, but most of them were known as "Claret" or "Burgandy" in those days.

Cheers
Ric

Well done Ric, it was the Mt Edelstone. Great Eden Valley, single vineyard wine. Made under that label since 1952 I believe.

Moth Mt Edelstone and Hill of Grace have been around that long, I would guess it was one of those.

Am I "Grange"? First commercial release in 1955
I think, with experimental batches made a few
vintages earlier. This wine does however often
contain a small proportion of Cabernet
Sauvignon.

Is this single grape variety as in "single" or as in "under the less than 15% rule"? Are you wine or port? If wine are you red or white????

Sure, I'll have a whirl.

Clues Round One:

I am a classic Australian wine that has been produced since the 50s. I am made from a single grape variety.
