Bordeaux Options

I have some friends who have recently arrived here after 10 years in France and they find our reds a little overpowering. I know absolutely nothing about French wines so could some one recommend some of ours that might suit their palate? Their favourites are Saint-Emilion (particularly Ch?teau Belair, Premier Grand Cru Class?), Pomerol, Pauillac and Cotes de Castillion.
