About the 1989 Penfolds Grange from Isle of Wine
Australia's most prestigious wine could be yours – a bottle of 1989 Penfolds Bin 95 Grange Hermitage in perfect condition and still in its original wraps valued at A$529.
Grange represents an uncompromising winemaking tradition, not distracted by fads or trends but maintaining an integrity of style and remaining true to its origins.
Rewards of Patience (5th edition) describes the 1989 vintage:
- Drinking window from now until 2020
- Medium crimson-purple in colour.
- Intense rum/raisin/chocolate (a touch herbal) aromas and flavours. There are plenty of fruit sweetness and cassis/chocolate notes, but tannins build up quite firm and tight at the finish.
- Comprises 91% Shiraz, 9% Cabernet Sauvignon.
- Produced from fruit from Kalimna Vineyard (Barossa Valley), Barossa Valley and McLaren Vale.
This bottle has been provided by Isle of Wine, a friendly, professional and family-run Hobart-based wine business. Isle of Wine offers thousands of vintage wines, vintage whiskies, vintage ports, vintage Armagnacs, miniatures and other rare and unusual imbibements for all occasions. Back vintages are a speciality.
