Encompassing the Alpine Valleys, Beechworth, Glenrowan, Milawa, Rutherglen and King Valley, Victoria's North East Valleys offer a gastronomic feast and if you especially love Italian wine and food, then Prosecco Road in the King Valley will certainly fulfill your culinary desires.
The King Valley is home to many first, second and third generations of Italian migrant families, all contributing to the friendly, welcoming atmosphere that makes this region special.
Otto Dal Zotto planted prosecco vines in 2000, inspired by his childhood home of Valdobbiadene, the birthplace of prosecco. This sparkling white wine, with its crisp, fresh palate, quickly became very popular and soon five other local wine-growers followed Otto's lead – Brown Brothers, Chrismont, Ciccone, Pizzini and Sam Miranda.
Lovers of prosecco, you can now follow a new wine and food trail, designed just for you. Meet the makers at intimate tastings, savour rustic Italian cuisine and join in conversations about life over a game of bocce.
