Hello and welcome to the VisitVineyards iPhone® app help and support page. Here you can find general information about the VisitVineyards app – your iPhone mobile guide to wine and food travel across Australia.
The VisitVineyards app is free, and provides you with mobile access to the VisitVineyards.com database of almost 5000 vineyards and wineries, cellar doors, plus restaurants, food producers and sellers, markets, microbreweries, accommodations and more across the whole of regional Australia.
Below is some general information about using the app, and how to contact us if you have a query or some feedback.

Q. What do I need to use this service?
A. – An iPhone, iPad or iPod touch (second generation), with iOS 4.3 or greater, and a connection to the internet.
Q. Do I have to pay to download or use this service?
A. – No, this service is free. The app can be downloaded directly from the iTunes store. Please note data charges may apply – check with your mobile service carrier for more details.
Q. Do I need to register/login?
A. – Yes, you need to register as a subscriber to use the VisitVineyards iPhone app. This enables you to login and access the data from our system. There is no charge for this service.
If you are an existing VisitVineyards.com subscriber, you will be prompted for your username and password the first time you start the application. If you have forgotten them, please see our FAQ page for assistance.
Please note: You will also receive a welcome email from us at VisitVineyards.com, confirming your subscription details, and (later) a newsletter with our monthly wine and food news, program updates, discounts, giveaways etc. If you do not wish to receive this, you can unsubscribe at any time by clicking on the link at the bottom of the newsletter.

Q. Can I view the app in landscape (sideways) mode?
A. – Not yet, though we aim to include this feature in an upcoming release.
Q. Can I use this app on an iPad?
A. – Yes, simply press x2 for easier reading.
Q. How big is the iPhone application?
A. – The VisitVineyards iPhone application is designed in such a way that it will not take up much memory in your iPhone. It is approximately 1 MB. Maps and search results data are downloaded as requested by you (by region, category etc). This helps keep the app to a small size.
Q. How do I use the iPhone application?
A. – Once you have downloaded the app and sync'd onto your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, the application will appear on the home screen.
- Look for the VisitVineyards icon on your home screen:
- Click on the VisitVineyards icon. A splash-screen welcoming you appears.
- If you have not previously registered as a subscriber on VisitVineyards.com, click ‘Sign-up’ and follow the prompts (the mandatory fields are first and last name, email, username and password and country.
- Please ensure you scroll to the bottom of the page and select that you are over the age of 18 (or of legal drinking age in your contry of residence). Please refer to our Terms and Conditions of use.
- Click ‘save’. Once you have been successfully registered, you will be redirected back to the home screen, and you can begin to use the app. (The icons in the bottom menu will become active).
- If you are an existing subscriber of VisitVineyards.com, simply enter your existing username and password in the boxes and then select the ‘log in’ button. (If you have forgotten these, please refer to our iPhone FAQ page for assistance). Once you have been successfully logged in, you will be redirected back to the home screen.

From the home screen, you can interact with the app in several different ways: You can browse all listings (by Australian state), search for a listing (enter a keyword or phrase to see listings that match your search criteria), of use the ‘near me’ function to view local offers in your area.
Q. I cannot see any data (regions, categories, listings) in the VisitVineyards app. What do I need to do?
A. – If you do not have 3G or Wi-Fi switched on, or you are not in an area covered by 3G (mobile data), you will not be able to use the application to look up search results or to use the map search function.

Q. I cannot see any results on the map. What do I need to do?
A. – You may not have 3G or Wi-Fi switched on. This needs to be switched on, and you need to be in mobile range, for you to see your results on the map. Alternatively, you may need to zoom out on the map to accommodate a wider geographical range for your search.
Q. I received the error message “Cannot determine your location”. What do I do?
A. – There can be various reasons for this message, which means that your current location cannot be found by your iPhone. Try the search again, and check to ensure you have 3G or Wi-Fi availability.
