On the third Saturday of each month, cello virtuoso Georg Mertens presents the haunting sound of the solo cello. What makes it unique? The concert is deep underground in the Lucas Cave, where the huge Cathedral Chamber offers arguably the best acoustics of any performance space in the world.
On the fourth Saturday of each month, The Paganini Duo (sizzling violin and sensual guitar) present fiery gypsy music, also in the Cathedral Chamber - lively pieces that everyone can enjoy. You don't need to be a classical music buff to enjoy the unique experience of an underground concert.
Each concert is 2 to 2.5 hours, including the ascent to the Cathedral Chamber (252 steep stair steps), The ticket price includes a brief tour of the rest of the Lucas cave after the concert (total of 910 stair steps). Then, concertgoers are invited to complimentary wine and cheese in Caves House.
