Record entries are expected for 2008 National Cool Climate Wine Show. Following 2007's approximate 900 entries, the National Cool Climate Wine Show
(NCCWS) anticipates a rise in numbers at this year's show, to be held again
in Bathurst over October 14-18, 2008.
Chair of the Show committee, Mark Renzaglia, said it was also the 10th anniversary
of the Show and the increasing number of entries reflected the growing prestige
and importance of the event on the Australian wine show calendar.
He said Bathurst continues to experience significant growth as a wine region,
due to the increasing expertise of the Bathurst regional vignerons.
Entries close September 12, 2008, and the 300-entry rise from 2006 to 2007 demonstrates cool climate wine growers and makers' enthusiasm and support for the Show.
Renowned Australian vigneron and wine judge, Tim Knappstein, will lead the two
judging panels over October 14-16. The Show will close with a public wine-tasting
on the evening of October 17 at $25 per ticket. A dinner showcasing the winning wines will be held on Saturday, 18th October 2008.
