Announced on Australia Day held at Machattie Park, The National Cool Climate Wine Show (NCCWS) has won the 2014 Bathurst Region Community Event of the Year award.

Long standing NCCWS Chairman and winemaker Mark Renzaglia received the award on behalf of the Bathurst Regional Vigneron’s Association (BRVA) and the NCCWS, and was quite overwhelmed by the announcement, he was genuinely stuck for words.

The criteria of the award were stipulated as an “event that was run this year in Bathurst that highlighted our community spirit or brought tourists to the area, and that adds to the living experience in Bathurst”

Founded by the Bathurst Regional Vignerons Association in 1999 (BRVA), The National Cool Climate Wine Show (NCCWS) is now in its 16th year and receives hundreds of entries from all Australian cool climate wine producing regions; incorporating boutique and large winemaking companies, also including an amateur class, making it Australia’s premier cool climate wine show.

The show has always existed to benefit, promote and provide world class feedback for wine producers to compare their offerings in a competitive marketplace, promote the local Bathurst Region as an authentic upcoming grape growing region, whilst offering the wider public and local community access to a world class wine show.

Over 250 eager patrons attended the Public Tasting keen to sample some of the 824 sips available. It's a social event where high quality, cool climate wines, tasty finger foods and camaraderie are the focus.

The Wine Show attracts considerable publicity and support from the wine industry, notable industry leaders and media. It draws premium sponsorship and partnering opportunities in which all levels of sponsorship are well promoted.

The NCCWS is run by a team of eager, dedicated volunteers, from varying aspects of the community, many of which have been volunteering for several seasons. The Wine Show receives considerable promotion and support from all local media outlets, travel and accommodation sites. The NCCWS supports the learning facility of the Charles Sturt promotions and marketing. These students are fundamental in accessing all media tributaries, local and national.
