Jack Thompson's Hotel Gearin, Katoomba, located in the centre of the Blue Mountains World Heritage Area. Jack Thompson AM has been one of Australia's leading actors for four decades. He has appeared in numerous Australian and American films working with people such as Clint Eastwood, Cate Blanchett, George Lucas, Russell Crowe and Sean Penn. He is also highly respected for his long time support of environmental issues. It was his passion for Australia and its culture and history that attracted Jack to the Hotel Gearin and he invites you to come and visit one of the Blue Mountains first hotels and enjoy the experience too.

Established in 1881, with additions being made in 1919 and 1927, Hotel Gearin is a beautiful example of the Deco period. Originally built by George Biles, the hotel was bought and named in 1910 by one Mrs Gearin.
