Triple Climb 09 supports The Smith Family to help disadvantaged Aussie kids to create a brighter future through education. The annual challenge tests the stamina and fitness of individuals against the elements. Participants strive to achieve the set challenge and fundraising target to benefit The Smith Family's Learning for Life Program.
In this year's challenge, two teams (one rugby and one cricket team) will attempt to climb the three highest peaks in the ACT, NSW and VIC.
There are 15 climbers who hope to raise $250,000. The expedition will be led by Paul Tobin, a long time supporter, with Mark Patterson heading the cricket team, with Mark Waugh participating. Michael Brial (ex Wallaby) will head the Rugby team.
The teams set off on Friday 1 May. They will first scale Mt Bimberi, then head south to conquer Mt Kosciuszko before heading further south to tackle Mt Bogong.
