Snowflakes and Schnapps – Jane Lawson
Dishes inspired by the chillier parts of Europe
Contributed articles and stories
The collection of European culinary masterpieces that Australia's Jane Lawson has so exquisitely perfected has been collaborated into this classically elegant, easy to use bible of a cookbook.
Dishes inspired by the many deliciously chilled European countries from Germany, Austria, Finland to the Baltic countries of Lithuania and Latvia provide a uniquely large and exciting range of cuisines. Jane has successfully borrowed the best bits and pieces to create this ultimate collection of recipes, the focus being on warm hearty meals that are irresistible through the cold winter months.
Putting in the time and effort by using the correct ingredients and methods for each recipe, is rewarding when devouring a pleasurable comforting meal filled with sustenance for freezing evenings spent entertaining loved ones.
Some ingredients used are seasonal and some simply hard to find, but seeking good quality fresh produce is necessary and can be sourced from speciality delicatessens and by requesting particular cuts of meat from a local trustworthy butcher. These products will result in creating the authentic individual flavour representing the dish's cuisine, although Jane readily supplies substitution ingredients where ever possible.
The stunning photography by Brett Stevens depicts the beauty of the foods making mouths water and tummies rumble at the sight of talented Jane's home cooked dishes.
