First Creek wines evolved as the label of one of Australia's most successful contract winemaking businesses in the heart of the Hunter Valley, Australia's oldest and most awarded wine region.
From its conception over a long lunch amongst four winemakers, a parcel of land in the heart of Pokolbin with 'First Creek' as its northern border was chosen as the site most suited for the establishment of a large, modern winemaking and bottling facility to produce quality fruit into premium table wine.
First Creek has been built around a unique depth of winemaking talent.These days Greg Silkman and Liz Jackson lead a team of four winemakers and mentor a number of young people with a passion for wine who aspire to transform the best fruit characteristics into premium varietal wine styles.
With this level of experience and talent, First Creek Winemaking Services has become the first choice for professional winemaking services for 25 companies, and the premium bottling service for more than 100 companies - it offers The Total Solution - Winemaking, Bottling and Storage.
Winemaking is a blend of science and art - and First Creek's winery tours provide visitors with an unforgettable winery experience for a complete understanding of the winemaking & bottling process. They have a special focus on providing tours for students working with the HSC course on Winemaking Industry, however people are very welcome to book in to tours which are free and run at 10:30am each week day. Ensure you book in advance.
