Optimiste Wines is located in the Central Ranges Wine Region of New South Wales.
It is a family-owned boutique, single vineyard producing small batch wines. The twelve year old pristine vineyards are set high in the hills of Mudgee. The well drained, north facing gravel slopes are well insulated from frost and produce some of the cleanest, disease free fruit in the district. Grapes are hand picked and yields are low.
Optimiste is very proud of their big reds: cabernet sauvignon, petit verdot, shiraz and a wonderful blend of cabernet, merlot & petit verdot they call the Marquis. They also love the chardonnay and the viognier, semillon, tempranillo and pinot gris are growing beautifully now on the Optimiste Estate and will be added to the range from the 2009 vintage.
Optimiste doesn't make a lot but what they do, they think is pretty good. The Mudgee wine region has over 150 years of wine-making history, produces fine modern wine, has a great food culture and spectacular natural beauty.
The soon to open Optimiste cellar door will be a haven for wine lovers and they'll be asking "Is your glass half full...?"
