The Byron Bay Triathlon is one of Australia's most famous triathlons. It is an Olympic distance event consisting of a 1.5 kilometre ocean swim, a 40 kilometre bike ride and a 10 kilometre run.
Held annually in Byron Bay the event is the iconic final event in Triathlon Australia's official triathlon calendar. The event marries an irresistible mix of sport and entertainment with, sun and surf in one of Australia's most popular destinations, Byron Bay. Little wonder it has rapidly grown to be one of the most popular triathlon events in Australia, attracting top triathletes from throughout Australia.
Famed for its rural beauty and its beaches the event takes in what can justifiably be considered the most picturesque area of the Far North Coast of New South Wales.
