Glenhoya Wines is located in Armidale in the New England wine area on the Northern Slopes of Northern New South Wales.
The first Shiraz and Rhine Riesling vines were planted in 1997 and 1998 at an elevation of 1040 metres. The first wine was produced in 2000 and applied for and received a Vigneron's Off-Licence in November 2001. The licence and Rhine Riesling wine produced was a first for the Armidale region. The grapes were hand picked and taken to the Hunter Valley for the winemaking.
Further plantings of Shiraz, Rhine Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc were completed in 2001 on adjacent land and some Viognier in 2005. The total number of vines is approximately 2400.
