The St Patrick's Race Day is the premier tourism event in the far west region of New South Wales held two weeks before Easter every year. The day conjures up a fabulous racing experience at arguably the best country race meeting in New South Wales - and possibly Australia, with fantastic fashions, customer comfort in air-conditioned marquees, massive shade sails over the betting ring, three grandstands and a huge amount of fun for all comers.
A number of events lead up to race day with a massive fashion parade, golf day, greyhound and harness racing, the famous St Pat's Games Night and Calcutta on race eve, all attracting patrons to the city to socialise and enjoy the many attractions in the area.
To conclude a fabulous local experience, visitors can mend their way to the legendary St Pat's Recovery Day at historic Silverton 25 kilometres from Broken Hill on the Sunday after the races.
