The Barrie Beehag Ski race is held on the majestic Murray River each November. The event is put on by the Moama Water Sports Club (who also conduct the Southern 80) in memory of founding and Life Member, Barrie. The race is held from Deep Creek Marina on Perricoota Road, Moama, going to the Torrumbarry Boat Ramp before returning again. Speeds of over 175km/h can be reached and the skiers can be aged from under 10, right through to seniors. As entry numbers are limited, the event is one of the most hotly contested on the ski racing calendar.
The event can be viewed from one of the best presented areas along the Murray River, with facilities to keep everyone happy available. The Barrie Beehag Ski race is a one day event and catering, as well as entertainment for the kids are available on site.
The starting and finishing of the race can viewed from this amazing venue.
