The Riverina is home to Australia's greatest sweet wines, including the De Bortoli Noble One, and is promoting the International Sweet Wine Challenge in order to increase awareness of sweet wines as a world style.
The 2008 International Sweet Wine Challenge will be judged in Griffith on 4 September.
This will be the third year of the Challenge, and to date the trophies have been shared between Australia and New Zealand entries, although Austrian and South African entries have also featured strongly.
Wines are to be judged by an independent panel headed by renowned Sydney journalist and author, Huon Hooke, in groups based on vintage, style and sweetness.
