Wrapped in Riesling is an exciting joint-event by online wine publication, Sip Your Style, and boutique public relations company, Fireworks PR. They have hand-picked some of Australia’s finest Riesling producers to be part of this inaugural event, with a balance of size, style and regionality that is sure to excite and educate.
Renowned for producing some of Australia’s top Rieslings, South Australia’s Clare Valley will be well-represented at Wrapped in Riesling. Some fabulous Rieslings will be on display from Kirrihill Wines, with their senior winemaker Donna Stephens on hand to personally guide guests through the delicious drops. Another Clare classic showcasing their finest at Wrapped in Riesling will be family-owned and heritage-rich Taylors.
Rounding out the Clare clan is Knappstein, with its wines handcrafted by winemaker and Riesling devotee, Glenn Barry, and Leasingham Wines which is among the oldest wineries in the Clare Valley and is dedicated to crafting classic ietals with style, power and elegance.
Guests will also be able to taste some delicious Eden Valley Riesling from family-owned winery Henschke Wines. Acclaimed winemakers, the Henschkes are multi-award winners; 2006 GTW Winemaker of the Year, 2011 Good Wine Guide Winery of the Year. Using biodynamic and organic viticulture their Rieslings are superb, aromatic and beautifully structured.
Showcasing their hand-crafted wine on the night is Raidis Estate, which is located in South Australia’s Coonawarra region. Family-owned and operated, Raidis Estate is an exciting boutique addition to Wrapped in Riesling.
The final South Australian winery is celebrated wine producer Peter Lehmann Wines, also known as one of the Barons of the Barossa. Located in beautiful Tanunda, in the heart of the Barossa Valley, Peter Lehman Wines have real depth and character and are a fabulous addition to Wrapped in Riesling.
Crossing the border, they have some excellent Victorian representation, including one of Australia’s best known wineries, Brown Brothers. Established in 1889, Brown Brothers is still family-owned and operated and continually shows innovation and leadership by producing new and exciting wine styles. We can’t wait to see what they show on the day.
From Victoria’s stunning King Valley region they have Dal Zotto Wines. Also family-owned, Dal Zotto wines are a unique blend of ‘La Famiglia’, tradition and innovation, and are sure to be a hit on the night.
The final winery is Frogmore Creek Wines from the stunning Penna region, in Southern Tasmania. Proudly family-owned, Frogmore Creek sources grapes from the finest cool climate regions and is one of Tasmania's most awarded wineries.
Riedel is an official sponsor of Wrapped in Riesling so guests will be sipping delicious Rieslings from Riedel’s stylish varietal-specific glasses. Riedel will also be giving away 2 Vinum XL Riesling glasses valued at $139.95 as a lucky door prize.
Wrapped in Ri a fun and relaxed way to enjoy some delicious Australian Rieslings, surrounded by vintage fashion stalls and some funky beats. To be held in aMBUSH Gallery in Sydney’s Waterloo region, Wrapped in Riesling will be a fantastic way to spend a Friday evening; shopping, bopping and sipping Riesling from some of Australia’s finest Riesling winemakers.
An eclectic range of vintage clothing stalls from the Vintage Fashion Emporium group (from The Sydney Antique Centre) will have a mix of fashion gems for sale, lining the gallery, while a DJ spins some retro tunes to tap into the mood.
