Our food and cookbook reviews this month:

We get lots of great feedback about our reviews – a cooking school contacted us recently to say they always refer to them before buying  or recommending cookbooks for their classes! This month we loved:

  • Rosa's Farm by Rosa Mitchell – The result of over two decades' experience and enjoyment for Italian-born Melbourne chef Rosa Mitchell and her husband Colin. Country cooking at its very best – fresh, healthy and lovingly prepared »

  • Purely Golden Door by Executive Chefs David Hunter and Edwin Rosenkranz – It's never too early or too late to start eating healthily. Combining pleasure with health and wellbeing and you're on a winner with this book »

Food travels

Wine tasting at Hess in the Napa Valley

Experience California's legendary Napa Valley

Yes, this month we're looking further afield – to one of the most famous food and wine regions in the world.

With more Michelin-star rated restaurants per capita than any other wine region (14 stars awarded in 2012), the farm-to-table culinary scene in the Napa Valley will delight you. And you'll receive a warm welcome in the winery tasting rooms too when you sample the legendary wines.

Combine all this with a vibrant art, live-music and theatre community and healing hot springs, crisp clean air and luxurious spa resorts and you'll want to stay in the Napa Valley a while »
