Cairns Port Authority (CPA) administers both Cairns Seaport and Cairns International Airport. Cairns International Airport is the fifth busiest international airport in Australia for international passenger arrivals and sixth busiest overall regarding passenger movements. There are five international airlines operating 130 scheduled regular public transport (RPT) services while the domestic airlines between them operate over 600 flights a week. Cairns Seaport is the second busiest cruise port in Australia. The port also acts as the gateway for visitors to the Great Barrier Reef, serving a total of 1.2 million passenger movements each year. Cairns Port Authority is also currently involved with Cityport, a project that presents a plan to integrate the Cairns Central Business District and waterfront land and cruise ship terminal facilities.
