Formerly known as Lucas Estate Wines. Louise Samuel and Colin Sellers came to Lucas Estate in the Granite Belt, Southern Downs of Queenland in August 2003 fulfilling their dreams of growing grapes, making good wine and (for Louise) becoming a 'real' artist.
With the sad passing of Colin in mid 2008, Louise is now the sole winemaker and owner of Lucas Estate, which is also a haven for local wildlife under the Land for Wildlife scheme.
Lucas Estate makes handcrafted wines on site in their state of the art winery. The Cellar door and cafe looks over the vineyard and the wildlife that visit. The cellar door showcases local preserves, and Mt Stirling's Olive products - tastings are offered. The art gallery houses works by local artists, including resident artist Louise Samuel.
The bookshop offers buyers a wide range of recipe and wine books, coffee table books, fiction and gift items. We also stock books about the local history of Stanthorpe by local authors Ian Bonaccorso and RJL Adams.
There is live music every first Sunday of the month plus The Granite Belt Blues (New Years Day) and Rock and Roll in the vineyard on the first Sunday in September.
