Pyramids Road Wines is on Pyramids Road that runs through Girraween National Park in Queensland's Granite Belt, Southern Downs, Queensland.
A passion for fine wines drives all operations at Pyramids Road Wines. Their focus is the production of high quality low volume hand made wines. All wines are hand crafted on the premises. The 2 hectare vineyard was planted in November 1999 producing our first crop in 2002. Varieties include Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Merlot, Mourvedre, and Verdelho. A 70 year old patch of muscat has been revived and has supplied a fortified to the Pyramids Road range.
Small scale production means most operations are hands-on -- from pruning, training, picking in the vineyard to basket pressing, bottling and labeling in the winery. Pyramids Road's cellar door has a long history as a local dance hall and a packing shed. It now provides visitors the opportunity to view the winemaking facilities in the attached shed and taste the Pyramids Hill wines.
