Boireann is located 10 kilometres north of Stanthorpe in the Granite Belt, Southern Downs, Queensland. The Vineyard is situated in a picturesque valley bordered by granite outcrops. Boireann is Irish for 'rocky place'.
Dry red wines are produced on site using only grapes grown at Boireann. Wines include Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Grenache/Shiraz/Mouvedre and Petit Verdot. The vineyard is planted on fine granitic sands at an altitude of 875m. Cool nights during the growing season delay ripening, allowing intense flavours to develop. The vineyard is given hands on care throughout the year and the wine is made in the traditional manner, using open fermentations, basket pressing and barrel ageing before being bottled on site.
