The steep cliffs and rocky outcrops of the mountain play home to a number of plants and animals. The mountain is home to approximately 1,470 species of plants; more than the entire British Isles! Complementing this vast array of flora is a stunning range of fauna, some, like the Table Mountain Ghost Frog, found in no other place in the world.
Groot Constantia Estate is the oldest wine estate in South Africa, and it is here that the country's thriving wine industry has its roots. Since it was developed by Simon Van der Stel in 1685 the estate has had an unbroken history of wine production.
