The Mawson Trail takes you through some of the most beautiful and spectacular tourist regions of South Australia.
With almost 900 kilometres of back roads, forest tracks and single track, the Mawson Trail is Australia's premier off-road cycling trail. Enjoy spectacular views, abundant wildlife, unique flora and extensive vistas always reward the physical hard work
You will need an off-road bicycle to ride the Mawson Trail as it takes you along dirt roads and tracks that are not suited to a road bicycle.
The trail is open all year round, but is best enjoyed between the months of April and November, as the summer months can be fiercely hot. National Parks and Forest Reserves are closed when a Total Fire Ban is declared and the public must not enter on these days. Contact the Fire Ban Hotline on 1300 362 361.
