Winemaker James Tilbrook and wine dog Pippa, Tilbrook Estate, Adelaide Hills, South Australia [©Tilbrook Estate]
"Hand made by our hands." This is James and Annabelle Tilbrook's vineyard and winemaking philosophy.
Tilbrook Estate is based in the beautiful Lenswood region of the Adelaide Hills and is somewhat unique with French inspired close planted vines and terracing across steep slopes. They offer wonderful cool climate, elegant but flavoursome, award winning wines including sangiovese cabernet and pinot gris.
ADELAIDE HILLS SANGIOVESE CABERNET 2006
Cherry and spice with a dash of liquorice. This wine has lovely depth and a full palate of savoury black fruits. You can try it with almost anything on a menu, but is especially good with full flavoured dishes, as well as pizza, pasta and anything with chilli or tomatoes.
Handpicked from the Cowper Vineyard near Charleston and the Porter Vineyard near Birdwood, this wine was made in the super Tuscan style, with both grape varieties maturing in a portion of new French oak barrels.
ADELAIDE HILLS PINOT GRIS 2008
Smell the aroma of pears, quince and honey, then experience a fresh, crisp texture and a smooth long finish. It is the perfect liquid accompaniment for great food and good times. Join in the fun, because everyone is getting into Pinot Gris!
Handpicked from the Cowper Vineyard near Charleston and the Greenleaf Vineyard near Lenswood, this delightful emerging style of wine is made in the traditional French way. This means picking the grapes when they are fully ripe and fermenting in old oak barrels.
