Gerda's Journey – Theatre Simple re-ivents their award-winning adaptation of the classc Hans Christian Andersen tale, The Snow Queen as an all-ages, all-terrain theatrical adventure performed at three of the Barossa's most famous and picturesque wineries, Richmond Grove, Peter Lehmann and Langmeil.
An outdoor park adventure, the actors literally take the audience on Gerda's journey through the story of The Snow Queen as the play (and audience) moves through the lawns and parklands of the wineries on the banks of the North Para River. So begins the story of the Gerda and her journey to find her lost best friend, Kai. Along the way, our heroine encounters self-absorbed flowers, well-read royalty, talking crows, a ferocious robber girl, guardian angels and pesky devils. Along for the journey, the audience discovers various types and interpretations of love as well as what it means to grow up, but not away from the child inside.
