The Mount Barker Caledonian Society is proud to present the fiftieth Highland Gathering, bringing the heart of the Highlands to the heart of the Hills. Held at the Mount Barker oval, less than half an hour's drive from the city, this all-ages event encompasses the best of Celtic dance, music and sport.
The main arena at the oval will be a continuous hub of activity, with demonstrations of Country Scottish Dancing and Celtic broadsword displays. The Gathering will also host various contests as pipe bands, highland dancers, and strong men come to compete, perform and display their amazing skills.
But the fun activities aren't just for the serious competitors. There's also plenty for everyone to try, including traditional Highland Games. There's plenty to see, and lots of interesting stalls and children's activities. You might even be able to catch yourself some haggis!
