The Home of Grant Burge Wines on the banks of Jacob's Creek, Barossa Valley,
Tanunda, South Australia.
Grant Burge is a fifth-generation Barossan vigneron and winemaker, who throughout his career has been one of the most respected and innovative forces in the Australian wine industry. The fascinating history of the Burge family and their long association with winemaking in the Barossa can be traced back to March 1855, when noted tailor, John Burge, his wife Eliza and their two sons immigrated from Hillcot, near Pewsey in Wiltshire, England to the Barossa Valley. With help from his sons Meshach and Henry, John's farm flourished with wheat, sheep and viticulture. His son Meshach continued the tradition, was a prominent community leader in the area, and married Emma in the early 1900's. The first-born of eight children, Percival, started the Wilsford Winery in 1916. Percival had two sons, Noel and Colin, and Colin and his wife Nancy had one son, Grant Burge. Following in the footsteps of his father and forefathers before him, Grant Burge now carries the winemaking tradition into the 21st century.
Grant Burge Wines is Barossa through and through, and a Grant Burge label is your guarantee of quality and integrity – they are sure you will enjoy their wines, and look forward to welcoming you to this beautiful region.
