Mitchell Winery is owned by Jane and Andrew Mitchell. They established the winery in 1975 on their property in the western hills of the Clare Valley. A one hundred year old sandstone apple store is set amongst century old gum trees was converted to serve as a rustic cellar door sales area. Continued growth has resulted in further development of the winery buildings and winemaking plant.
Currently some 400 to 500 tonnes of premium fruit is crushed and processed in a well equipped modern winery. The imposing two storey century old family home sits amid the vineyards, overlooking the winery. The grapes for Mitchell Wines come mostly from the company's three local vineyards. Specialising in the production of premium quality red and white table wines.
