Each year the Port Lincoln Caledonian Society Incorporated celebrates the landing at Port Lincoln by Captain Hawson and the first European settlers in 1839 from the ship 'Abeona'.
For this 170th anniversary the programme will include a short historical tableau about the landing, and a history of the events of that time read by Naval and Army Cadets.
Members of the adjoining Axel Stenross Maritime Museum will make a symbolic landing on the shore in the cutter, and the Port Lincoln City Band will provide musical entertainment.
A sausage sizzle will be held on the verandah of the Museum after the official ceremony.
