The magnificent Flinders Ranges is the backdrop to this outback celebration. A mixture of social event and outback adventure, the day is full-on right from the start.
There are only 300 locals in the township, but when the Hawker Cup is on, people come from far and wide to join in the racing action and party atmosphere. And there's plenty of refreshments and country cooking to satisfy anyone's appetite.
On-course bookies and Sky Racing Channel are available for the serious race-goers. Full bar facilities are available as well as a Champagne tent and wine tasting. When the hunger hits you can choose between an outback barbecue, freshly made sandwiches and cakes or hot donuts.
Everyone had a ball last year, but it's pretty hard not to at the Hawker Cup.
