It’s April already, vintage is well and truly underway and the Langhorne Creek Winemakers are busy working with their valued partners in the lead up to the Langhorne Creek Wine Show judging, awards Luncheon on Friday May 2 and Geek Wine Showcase Tasting on Sunday May 4.

With less than 30 sleeps until judging it time to make sure you don’t miss the fun and grandeur of these events.

“With 199 wines entered, the judging panel of Nigel Dolan, Ian Riggs and Nick Ryan will be busier than any other year” said Executive Officer Lian Jaensch, “and competition for the coveted Geek Champion Wine of the Show will be more hotly contested than ever.

IT consultancy Geek has continued its support of local winemakers through these awards which only feature the prestigious Geek Champion Wine of Show but also the Best of Class awards across 7 categories, a Producer of the Year award and for the first time this year the LC Personnel Vigneron of the Year award.

The Wine Show Committee hopes that the increased competition of this year’s wine show will push Langhorne Creek wines to even greater heights. Director of major event partner, Jon Paior, said “our company Geek is thrilled to be a part of the transformation and growth of the event to be the official Langhorne Creek Wine Show and as our tag line says …it just works”.

Limited public tickets are available for the award Luncheon on May 2 but if you miss out why not take the leisurely drive to Langhorne Creek on Sunday May 4 where all 199 wines, including the Geek Champion Wine of Show will be available to sample or buy.
