Tasting notes: Oliver's Taranga Vineyards, (McLaren Vale, SA) 2016 »
Time for something different with the Grenache!
Contributed articles and stories
With 100 ha of premium grapevines on the Taranga property, the Oliver family has over 50 blocks representing different grape varieties, clones, soil types and vine ages.
Each vintage, different varieties and blocks will show their strength and from this has been born the 'SMALL BATCH' range. Made in small batches, these wines have been handcrafted to speak of both the variety and the vintage in which they have been produced
They love Grenache in all of its different forms at Oliver’s Taranga and this year decided to do something a little different and release a parcel of Grenache as an early drinking style. Here's tasting notes for Alfresco Grenache:
2015 McLaren Vale Small-batch 'Alfresco' Grenache
Just as the French with their Beaujolais Nouveau or the Spanish with their Joven Tempranillo, we bring you the Al Fresco Grenache! Serve lightly chilled, outdoors with your mates, on a lovely warm day.
The perfect accompaniment to a charcuterie plate or wood oven pizzas.
Clear and bright light red. Bright cherry juice, cranberry notes with a savoury edge. Lovely floral frangipani lift. Spiced cherries on the palate, a touch of dried strawberries and a delicious Angostura-esque bitters finish.
RRP A$24.00 per bottle (direct from vineyard)
