Coriole Vineyards was established by the Lloyd family in 1967 overlooking the McLaren Vale region and the Gulf of St Vincent. The area is one of Australia's oldest and best known wine regions.
The flagship wine is Coriole Shiraz, produced since 1970. The wine from the oldest vineyard, planted in 1920, is bottled separately as Lloyd Reserve Shiraz. More recently Coriole led the way in Australia with Italian varieties, planting Sangiovese in 1985. The major white variety is Chenin Blanc. Coriole's wines are sold throughout Australia and in many countries worldwide.
Coriole has a landmark cottage garden spread around a heritage listed barn and cottage dating from the 1860s.
Wine is not the only passion of the Lloyd family. Premium olive oils and vinegars are also produced. Olives are sourced from surrounding olive groves, including one at Coriole.
