The Reynella Winery is the site of oldest wine business in South Australia, established by John Reynell in 1838. After passing through several hands, the Hardy family purchased the business in 1982. Hardys association with Reynella dates from 1850 when pioneer and founder Thomas Hardy, worked for John Reynell during his first 6 months in Australia.
Today, the historic Reynella Winery and Cellar Door remains a premier wine tourism destination. Visit cellar door and sample a selection of premium wines including the iconic Reynella Basket Pressed Shiraz.
Cellar Door is also adjacent to many historic structures including the grand Reynell Homestead which dates from 1842 and Cellar No.1 which dates from 1845. The Old Cave as it is more affectionately known is listed with the National Trust and is the oldest working wine cellar in Australia.
The Reynella Winery provides the ultimate in winery locations for garden ceremonies. Friendly and helpful cellar door staff can provide information packs on request.
