Shaw and Smith's winery at Balhannah, houses their Tasting Room, offices and all areas of winemaking from fermentation to bottling. Shaw and Smith's environmentally sensitive winery is regarded as the benchmark for winery developments in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia. Their vision is make exciting, refined wines exclusively from the Adelaide Hills that rank amongst Australia's best.
Shaw and Smith's 42 hectare M3 Vineyard at Woodside was planted in 1994 and takes its name from owners Michael and Matthew Hill Smith and cousin Martin Shaw. This vineyard consistently produces outstanding Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc with great concentration and fruit purity. All grapes are hand picked. The soils are sandy loam over red-yellow clay with some shale.
