The Pelican's Landing Maritime Wines vineyard, only the second on Hindmarsh Island, is located approximately 15 kms over the bridge and down the main road, almost to the end of the South Australian island.
Purchased and planted also in 2001 after lengthy developmental approval, the vineyard is currently 18 acres with the varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay & Viognier, and is only one of two approved vineyards on the Island and since 2007, the largest producing. Soil types are mixed and varied with the majority being sandy loam and clay. The property is 80 acres in total, previously cattle farming.
Their cellar door, located at the Murray Mouth turnoff on Randell Rd, Hindmarsh Island is currently closed. However they are able to conduct a wine tasting at your function or venue upon request.
