Mount Compass Estate is nestled at the bottom of the Adelaide Hills wine region of South Australia's Mount Lofty Ranges, bordering the Southern Fleurieu Peninsula.
The unique topography of this region is sudden in its contrast. Shaped by glacial action, it is characterized by undulating hills and flat valleys of rich peat soils.
The vineyard is planted on the site historically known as the "Square Waterhole" and it used to be the original stage coach stop between Victor Harbor and Adelaide. In most recent years, it was run as a dairy and was renowned for its green pastures and produce.
Restaurant on site.
Square Waterhole is located on Victor Harbor Road, 2.5Km past Mount Compass township and opposite the Goolwa turn off.
