The Strathalbyn accredited Visitor Information Centre is located in the historic railway station building on South Terrace close to all community amenities. Car parking facilities are excellent.
The centre is surrounded by beautiful gardens and lawns with plenty of shady trees, with the platform side of the railway track decorated with numerous half barrels planted with standard roses and annual flowering seedlings.
Significant lawn areas adjacent to the centre are available to the public with undercover shedding, barbecue and picnic areas and a children's playground and toilets with disabled access are located in the railway station.
The office area of the centre has a large display of tourism brochures, souvenirs and books as well as video vision of the Fleurieu Peninsula and other regions.
Services are provided by a friendly bunch of volunteers and include tourist information, public internet access, booking agency, photocopying and facsimile service and tour guides.
