Hollyhock (c.1830) is a four star heritage-listed cottage in the picturesque Georgian village of Richmond. Located in south-east Tasmania, Richmond is on the historically significant convict trail.
Hollyhock Cottage is fully self-contained and ideally suited to couples. It has a kitchen, sitting room, bedroom with a queen-size bed, and bathroom with double spa bath. Should you wish to cook, the kitchen has all modern appliances and comes supplied with the best of Tasmania's produce for a hearty country breakfast. The cottage has wood and electric heating, and laundry facilities.
Explore historic Richmond with its Georgian cottages, Australia's oldest church and bridge, and the colonial jail. The jail is now a museum, and you can experience what it was like to be condemned to solitary confinement in a gloomy cell.
Richmond is a tranquil village that will give you the taste of life in a country town in the early 19th century. There are antique and craft shops, restaurants and a good local pub - everything you need.
Richmond is within a 20 minutes drive of Hobart and within easy access of the Coal River Valley wine region, wildlife parks, Hobart International Airport, Port Arthur Historic Site and the east coast.
