Pressing Matters vineyard is located in the Coal River Valley of Southern Tasmania. It was established in 2002 by wine judge, Greg Mellick, and fellow wine lover Francis Douglas.
In 2008 the vineyard was named Pressing Matters which was inspired by Tasmanian artist, Tom Samek who subsequently designed the wine labels. In the same year Francis sold his interest.
Production is low but slowly increasing and the riesling, made by Julian Alcorso, has enjoyed considerable success at recent Royal Hobart and Tasmanian Wine Shows. Volumes of the pinot noir made by Paul Smart are not yet high enough for exhibition but this wine has received very favourable reviews.
The vineyard is not open to the public however wines are available for sale through their website.
