Each year Savour Tasmania offers a program of events over four days leading up to the last weekend of May – a celebration of Tasmania's purest produce expressed through the gastronomic magic of cutting edge international and local food personalities.
Now in its fourth year, the word is out – Savour Tasmania has become a fixture on the Australian culinary calendar. Tasmania's reputation as a food bowl and island provedore is attracting culinary luminaries. They are eager to participate in a festival that shines the spotlight on passionate producers. Savour Tasmania showcases the unique and burgeoning food and wine culture that Tasmania is proud to cultivate.

Hobart will be the epicentre of Savour Tasmania 2012 and will host the bigget event Savour has ever staged on 26 May. Leveraging the visiting chefs for the Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA) Black Box Culinary Challenge, which will take place in Hobart on 23 May, Savour is hosting all international chefs participating in the Challenge to cook at the Savour Tasmania A Feast of Chefs event at the Prince Wharf.
A Feast of Chefs in Hobart – Saturday 26 May
A Feast of Chefs will see guests sitting ‘feast’ style at long tables. On the menu will be canapes on arrival; a Catalan inspired entrée by Spanish cuisine maestro, Frank Camorra; a globally diverse choice of three main courses created by international Black Box chefs; and an equally internationally inspired choice of desserts. Dessert will mimic the Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA) Black Box Challenge whereby chefs are given the same ingredients and asked to interpret them in their own personal style. The room will be punctuated with celebrations of Tasmanian produce including an oyster shucking station on aal and a celebration of Tasmanian cheeses. With a total of 64 chefs presenting 16 different food styles A Feast of Chefs will positively ooze a carnival atmosphere and be the ultimate food fiesta. This will be a food event unparalleled for diversity of cuisines and quality of produce. Tickets are $95 each including food and a welcome drink. Guests can purchase wine from a list of 30 Tasmanian producers and beers from local micro-brewers.
