Our Workshop, in the historic Docks area of Hobart, is within 10m of Hunter Island, the site of first settlement in Hobart in 1804. We are located between two iconic sandstone buildings, the Henry Jones Art Hotel, and the Drunken Admiral fish restaurant.

Just 30m across Hunter St is Victoria Dock, which has long been the fisherman's dock- on most days we can generally see a selection of some of the finest seafood in the world being unloaded from the fishing boats- crays, scallops, abalone, scale fish etc.

We share a two foot thick sandstone wall with the Drunken Admiral, built in 1825, and can generally begin to appreciate the garlic wafting around the corner by about 3pm- just across Victoria Dock is the family run Mures seafood operation(they go out and catch their own), and a little further over is Fish Frenzy, rated the "best fish & chips in Australia" by Leo Schofield.

Geoff is one of the few studio jewellers in Australia who still hand forge a range of bracelets/chains/armrings- even rings!- winner of numerous awards over the years, we produce a range of well designed, understated, contemporary jewellery, at affordable prices, using (mainly) the superb materials available from within Australia, such as black & crystal opal, the burnt honey coloured Cognac Diamonds, and South Sea Pearls.

We're colour nuts, and hooked on the subleties of colour within gemstones, so we spread our net a little further offshore for superb sapphire (Sri Lanka), to East Africa for sapphire, rubellite, tanzanite & even the ocasional amethyst of superb deep purple colour.

Geoff is also a longstanding fellow of the Gold &Silversmiths Guild of Australia (gsga.org), and a qualified Gemmologist and Valuer. If Visiting Hobart, pop in for a chat & a browse- we will be delighted to see you!
